Felted Wool
Wool felting is an ancient technique of turning raw sheep’s wool into fabric. For thousands of years humans have been felting wool to make shoes, bags, rugs, clothing, hats, and even insulated dwellings (think of Mongolian gers, aka yurts).
We make custom felted wool goods such as slippers, bags, mits, and hats. Our wool comes from local ranchers Deb and Dennis Moroney at the 47 Ranch south of Tucson.
We often incorporate naturally tanned leather into the design via straps, laces, soles, etc.
Prices range from $50-$300, depending on size and complexity of project.
